About Me:
Well, I started out at 270ish pounds -- diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglicerides, no energy, depressed, etc...

My doctor scared the crap out of me... and I decided to do right by myself, lose weight, get in shape, work on my mental issues that were holding me in a nasty destructive pattern.

Now I can run over 20 miles (am training for a full marathon in November 2009!!!), do weights, work out with the best of them... still have about 30-40 pounds left to go, but am in the best shape of my life emotionally & physically.

Is it worth it? HELL YEAH!!!

I will never allow myself to be that fat, out of shape and miserable ever again. Sure, some days its a real challenge... and I love to eat good food, love the creamy/crunchy/sweet... but I now know to just have a little, and to move more to compensate for it.

Now, when I get down with those depression moments... I try to work it out with exercise not with a bag of M&Ms!!!

Best news of all... my doctors are not considering me to be diabetic anymore. I am officially just "insulin resistant" or "pre-diabetic"... hopefully I can kick those labels too! And, I no longer need medicine for high blood pressure... I do not have high triglycerides or cholesterol anymore either! WOW!!! GO ME!!!

Anyhow, I love living life, being crazy... doing fun stuff that people 1/2 my age wouldn't do (like jello wrestling -- don't believe me, look in my photo album!)
